Well, hello - or should that be G'day?!?! We're here!!!!!!
The flight was a piece of cake - I catnapped all the way in true Auntie Mabel style. Uncle Wilf on the other hand had trouble pretending he was asleep. Does that surprise you?!?!?!? So far so good on the jet lag front - though the voices of doom promise the third day is the worst, roll on tomorrow!
Would you believe it rained yesterday, but was still warm. We went out in summer clothes - the locals could tell we were English! Today is glorious. Blue sky, white clouds, turquoise and silver sea.
We've been out to lunch with the neighbours - retired sheep farmers, lovely kind people. Mr Ken's father was a medic at Gallipolli and survived. The family had his diaries from WW1 made into a book - complete with photos, hand-drawn maps and the entries just as they were written. We talked about the new cemetry at Fromelles too - and promised we'd send a photo of it next time. And Mr Ken saw Bradman play - he and Uncle W have sat watching cricket all afternoon. Some things never change!
Here are some pics. The first is the view of the sea from the house, the second is Mindarie Beach. (Click for bigness.)
Stay tuned for more adventures in Oz, plus details of how the Fremantle Doctor is affecting my hair!
